The Calnash Trucking Ag Event Centre

3611 Hwy 2A, Ponoka AB. T4J 1J8

403 - 755 - 8490

The facility known as the "Calnash Trucking Ag Event Centre" is the fulfilment of a vision held by a large number of the current Board of Directors and other like-minded community members, spanning nearly a 20 year time period. It was recognized for many years that central Alberta needed a year round agri-recreational facility, to compliment other existing facilities. With easy access from #2 highway, and being located in the heart of the horse industry, Ponoka provides a prime location. It is also an economic & tourism driver for the Ponoka area.

The fund raising, planning & building of the Calnash Ag Event Centre occurred via a collaborative effort between the Town of Ponoka, Ponoka County, the Ponoka Stampede & Exhibition Association, and the Ponoka Agricultural Society. Each organization appointed representatives to a steering committee, which became the forerunner to the non-profit society, Ponoka Agriculture Event Centre Society, which owns the current facility. The Board of Directors of PAECS is responsible for ongoing planning & fund raising as relates to capital projects. The Calnash Ag Event Centre is operated by a Standing Committee of the Ponoka Ag Society.

The Calnash Ag Event Centre is available for rent on an hourly, daily, or multi day rental basis. The majority of the events currently taking place are agri-recreational based; however, the facility can be utilized for many purposes, please call us to discuss your ideas. The building is also the home of the Canadian Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, which draws visitors from all around the world to view the history & artifacts that are on display.
